Tuition, Registration, Late Payment

Tuition

Tuition at MMS is a flat monthly rate billed automatically on the 1st of each month and is based on an average of 4 lessons per month.

Most months you will receive 4 or 5 lessons and occasionally you’ll receive 3 lessons due to major national holidays and school breaks. Your monthly rate will remain the same in all scenarios.

Registration

There is a $45 registration fee for new members - this fee is non-refundable as it covers the cost of getting your student account set up behind the scenes.

Late Or Missing Payment

We encourage all students to use our auto-renew payment system to avoid late or missing payments.

Late or missing payments will incur a $25 late fee after 7 days past the invoice due date and lessons may be paused due to a missing payment.

Non-Refundable

Tuition is non-refundable.

Canceling A Lesson & Scheduling Make-Up Lessons

If you need to cancel a lesson, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.

We DO offer make-up credits for the following scenarios:

  • If you cancel a lesson with 24hrs+ notice from the original lesson start time

  • If your lesson cannot be delivered due to technical problems

    • If your device is malfunctioning or your internet connection is unstable, we will issue you a group make-up lesson credit. Group make-up lessons are 60min workshop-style sessions with up to four students and led by one of our teachers. They are a great opportunity to meet and work with other students and teachers in our community.

    • If your teacher’s device is malfunctioning or your teacher’s internet connection is unstable, we will issue you a regular make-up lesson credit.

  • If your teacher is absent and cannot be replaced by a substitute in time for your lesson

We DO NOT offer make-up credits for the following scenarios:

  • Any lesson missed or canceled with less than 24hrs notice

  • Any lateness to a lesson

How make-up credits work:

  • When issued, your make-up credits will appear at the top of your Lesson Notebook and can be used right away to book a make-up lesson. To do so, use the “Book A Make-Up Lesson” dropdown at the top of your notebook.

  • Make-up credits are only available for paid lessons.

  • 1 make-up credit is equivalent to 1 make-up lesson.

  • You can have up to 3 make-up credits on account at a time.

  • Make-up credits are valid for 30 days after the date of cancellation. We encourage students to use credits as soon as possible to ensure teacher availability and to avoid credit expiration.

  • If your teacher is unavailable for a make-up lesson, you will be able to book a make-up lesson with one of our other amazing teachers.

  • Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled - please be sure to choose a time that you know you will be able to attend.

Teacher Substitution

  • If you’d like to change to a different teacher or to lessons on a different instrument, just let us know 14 days before the 1st of the month.

  • If your teacher is absent, we will provide a qualified substitute. In the rare event that a substitute cannot be provided, we will issue you a make-up credit.

    • Our lesson cancellation policies still apply to lessons with substitute teachers.

  • If your teacher becomes unavailable for regular lessons, you will be able to choose from one of our other amazing teachers.

Pausing Your Membership

  • You can pause your lessons for up to 2 months and keep your same lesson time by pre-paying for your returning month.

  • To pause your lessons, just let us know at least 30 days before your next billing cycle.

Canceling Your Membership

  • We would hate to see you go, but if you decide to cancel your membership at any time, please let us know as soon as possible and at minimum 14 days before your next billing cycle.

  • Students wishing to rejoin in the future will need to re-register when signing back up (including the $45 registration fee).

  • Although extremely rare, we reserve the right to end your membership at any time. In this case, we will refund you any prorated tuition.
